Password-protecting a page

To password-protect a bio page: open Editor → Apps → toggle "Password protect" on, set a password (4+ characters), then publish. Visitors are currently prompted for the password on every new visit (access is not remembered between visits). Analytics keeps working behind the gate, including failed attempt counts.

When to use a password

Sometimes you want a bio page restricted to a specific audience: VIP customers, students in a course, members of a club, or paid content. A password hides the page content from everyone else.

How to enable it

• Open Editor → Apps → Password protect.
• Toggle "Password protect" on.
• Set your password (at least 4 characters).
• Click Save.
• Click Publish to apply.

What the visitor sees

When a visitor hits a protected page:

• A password prompt appears instead of the content.
• They enter the password and click Enter.
• The page opens for that visit. Important: the current protection asks for the password on every new visit, it does not remember access in the browser between visits.

Best practices

• Pick something easy for visitors but not obvious. Do not use "12345", that invites curious passers-by.
• Share the password on a different channel from the link (link on Instagram, password in a private WhatsApp message).
• Rotate the password periodically, especially for evolving content like courses.
• Use separate pages per audience rather than one page with one password.

Tracking access

Analytics still works behind the gate: you see how many entered successfully, and how many failed attempts.

Removing protection

Toggle the protection off and click Publish, the page becomes public again instantly.

A legal note

A password is not strong encryption; it is a barrier against casual access, not a substitute for encrypting sensitive files. Do not share personal customer data behind a password-protected page; use secure channels instead.
